Nieoczywiste pytania dotyczące dezynfekcji

Even if you already know how important disinfection is for maintaining proper hygiene and avoiding bacteria, viruses, and other germs, you surely still have questions you’d like to ask. Check below to see if you can find the answers!

Can a disinfectant spray be used to disinfect a minor wound or cut?

No, an open wound, even a minor one, cannot be disinfected with a biocidal product. Products registered as medications are intended for this purpose; before they are marketed, they are clinically tested for skin interactions and side effects. By definition, biocidal products are intended for healthy skin. For the treatment and care of minor wounds, abrasions, and cuts, products currently available at pharmacies are recommended.

What exactly can be disinfected with surface disinfectant sprays?

Most germs are transmitted via the hands, and the objects they touch are their primary breeding grounds! Your phone, computer keyboard, TV remote, payment cards, light switches, doorknobs, desk tops, cabinet and drawer handles, handbags, shopping cart handles, bus handrails, stair railings in public places, toilet seats, and wallets are the most contaminated surfaces in our environment. The sprays are also suitable for daily cleaning of makeup tools—brushes, tweezers, and sponges.

Can hand sanitizer spray be used interchangeably with foot sanitizer spray, and vice versa?

If you only have one of them on hand—no problem. Either one will effectively disinfect both your feet and hands. The difference lies in the additional active ingredients tailored to the specific needs of the feet and hands, such as odor-neutralizing or skin-care agents.

Do disinfectant sprays dry out the skin?

The active ingredients responsible for the biocidal effect on microorganisms—namely, alcohols—dry out the skin on their own. The secret lies in a product formula composed of skin-friendly ingredients designed to counteract the drying effects of alcohol. To this end, special humectants can be used to prevent skin dryness by retaining its natural moisture and additionally smoothing the skin.
