Safety in the kitchen and while grilling during the long June weekend

A long weekend is perfect for family gatherings and get-togethers with friends. We have more time for culinary experiments—but do we remember the pathogens invisible to the naked eye? Let’s make sure we spend this time in a germ-free environment. How can we do that? We have some tried-and-true methods.

Kitchen textiles

Sponges, dishcloths, and dish towels—these are the perfect breeding ground for bacteria. Numerous microorganisms can multiply in dishcloths, which are usually damp. That’s why it’s very important to wash or replace them regularly. The same rule applies to other kitchen textiles as well. Try this simple tip: The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends placing dish sponges in the microwave for 30 seconds at the end of each day or washing them in the dishwasher along with the dishes. This helps eliminate microorganisms living on the sponge.

Limit the spread of germs

Your kitchen will be safer if you follow simple rules for proper separation.

To do this, it’s a good idea to have separate towels for your hands, countertops, dishes, and food. This prevents germs brought home on your hands from being transferred to clean cutlery or freshly washed fruit.

Clean hands – washing alone isn’t enough

It is absolutely essential to ensure that your hands are always clean. You should wash your hands thoroughly after touching raw meat, especially poultry, as well as eggs, dish sponges, or trash can lids. Washing alone, however, is not enough. To eliminate all viruses and bacteria, do not forget to disinfect your hands with an appropriate product: MEDISEPT Hand Sanitizing Gel 100ml Papaya

Cabinet handles, drawer pulls, or doorknobs—we touch these items in the kitchen almost constantly—but do we remember to disinfect them? We must take into account the fact that germs carried on our hands accumulate on them. These areas should be included in every cleaning session! Here, we can successfully use MEDISEPT 500ml Papaya Surface Disinfectant Spray.

Kitchen surfaces

Every self-respecting cook knows that a meat cutting board should not be used for cutting vegetables or bread. This rule must be strictly followed if we want to limit the spread of microorganisms in our kitchen. To ensure safe cooking, let’s use separate cutting boards.

Kitchen countertop. Everything ends up on it. Groceries. Phones. Receipts. Sometimes even the TV remote, which is where most germs are found in our homes. To best maintain the hygiene of your kitchen countertop, you should disinfect it with special solutions safe for use in contact with food. These are also suitable for disinfecting cutting boards, knives, and other kitchen accessories. MEDISEPT Surface Disinfectant Liquid 100ml Neutral – a neutral-scented spray – can be found in our online store at dezynfekcja.pl.

For the love of grilling

A long June weekend is ahead of us. Everyone is eagerly looking forward to gathering with friends and loved ones and firing up the backyard grill. But before we indulge in some grilled treats, let’s remember to keep things clean. That’s where MEDICLEAN 530 Grill comes in—it’s perfect for burnt-on stains in the kitchen and great for cleaning a burnt grill or, for example, fireplace glass.

If you don’t plan on cooking this coming weekend, you can always use a catering service. Check how much your provider knows about safety in a professional kitchen. You can find more information about products for the food service industry in the HoReCa tab at www.medisept.pl.
